For some of us, driving a RC vehicle beyond 35mph will result in an accident or at least in a loss of control. But what happens when your vehicle can reach 100mph?

Michel Goulet from Quebec, Canada is a speed maniac and knows a lot about high speed R/C vehicles. He have borrowed to his friend, Patrick Gadbois, a stock Team Associated RC8e buggy and has modified his buggy until he has reached a “ballistic” 100mph (yes 160km/h for the metric guys) top speed. For this project, , Michel has added the following items:
Motor and ESC: Castle Creations Monster Mamba Max combo 2650kv;
Battery : LiPo 6S 30C 5000mah;
Gearing : 25/34;
Center diff have been modified to fit the new 34T spur gear;
Modified Ofna High Downforce wing;
Ofna foam tires;
Suspension have been hardened and lowered.
The RC8e project is not completely finalized yet. Michel thinks he can add few extra mph’s to his RC8e. Michel owns a spectacular (and fast) collection of vehicles. Like a 91mph Traxxas e-Revo, a 85mph Traxxas Mini e-Revo and he is currently working on a 110mph Ofna DM1.
Next year, Michel will bring his collection of fast cars to the International RC Speed Challenge (ISC) (www.rc-isc.com) where he’ll compete against other “high speed” fanatics. By the way, Michel is looking for sponsors…
