I run this website since October 2006 but I never took the time to introduce myself. So here I am…

Name: Sylvain Lafrance
Location: I’m from Province of Québec, Canada (Google Map). My mother tongue is French, that’s why my English is far from being perfect. I work hard to make it better. I already know the most important words for R/C racing… At the sound of the tone…. Down and quiet…. No harm, no foul! LOL
DOB: Somewhere in 1971… Yes already 40+!
Current vehicles: I mostly own Team Associated vehicles. RC8.2 FT nitro and electric, RC10GT2 FT, B4.1. I also own Axial Dingo and Honcho scale trucks for the relax side of R/C. I’m pretty much loyal to the brands I’ve always owned.
Preferred race class: I prefer 2wd 1/10 vehicles no matter the class because they require precision. I like 1/8 scale nitro buggy class because this is THE class.
Classes I currently race: I now try to focus on 1/8 buggy nitro or electric. I’ve raced less frequently in the last years. I just spend a little more time with the family .
Products you can find under my cars’ hoods: Team Associated, Pro-Line Racing, Futaba, Reedy, LRP.
My experience: Started in 1992 with a RC10T in my backyard. Took a break between 1993 and 1997. Bought a RC10GT in 1998 to bash around the house. Few years later, I bought a Savage and switched to a Monster GT when I started to race in 2005.
Highlights: 2006, 4 Aces championship (Québec city) winner in Monster Truck and 2wd buggy classes. 2008 finished 4th in truggy expert at the RC Pro Series Québec Division. I didn’t participate to many races since. Just few ones here and there.
What I like in racing: Great way to make good friends, I like the ambiance.
What I hate in racing: Racers that drive like they were in a demolition derby. People with big ego. Of course, gluing tires and painting bodies.
What I learn from racing: Preparation is the key for success
What I should practice to be a better racer: I suffer from the on/off throttle syndrome
My R/C dream: Race at a major event in USA
