News – Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield Dominant At ROAR 1:8 Offroad Fuel Nationals Warm-Up

Just weeks removed from his dominant performance at the Cactus Classic, Team Associated/Reedy’s Ryan Maifield put down the electric vehicles and fired up his Team Associated RC8B to attend the ROAR 1:8 Offroad Fuel Nationals Warm-Up at Thunder Alley Raceway. From the first qualifier, Maifield and his JConcepts-accessorized vehicle were the combination to beat. Setting the fastest time in the first two rounds of qualifying secured Maifield the Top Qualifying spot for the 60-minute final.

As Sunday afternoon came around, new Team Associated/Reedy addition Clint Wachter joined Maifield in the A Main after a one-stop strategy in the 20-minute B Main earned him a transfer position to the final. As the tone sounded, Maifield immediately jumped out to a quick 2-second lead ahead of Tebo and Tessmann. Over the next 20 minutes, Maifield slowly built his lead to over 10 seconds utilizing a 9-minute pit strategy. With only one mistake in 60 minutes of racing, Maifield’s RC8B flowed around the track with ease, lapping up to second place within 45 minutes of racing.

Up next for the Associated star is the historical Silver State Nitro Challenge at Sin City R/C in Boulder City, NV. Joining him for Team Associated will be teammates Ryan Cavalieri and Richard Saxton.
