Scheduled first for August 9th but postponed due to poor weather, the fourth round of the Canada RC Pro Series, Quebec division has been held this last weekend August 30th in Quebec City with the folks of RC Fanatic de la Capitale. Near 50 racers came across the Province of Quebec and Ontario to meet and spend good times together.

Weather conditions were uncertain and frequently changed from sun to clouds during the day, making carb adjustments frequent and making the track conditions changes from race to race.

Buggy final has been delayed 45 minutes after heavy rain fell. All this water made the track completely wet and muddy. The race director decided to not cancel the race and all staff have worked hard to dry the track. The most courageous (read crazy) drivers have decided to participate the final. However the dark was near and all the buggies were covered by mud, the final race has been shortenedd to 15 minutes. Like the announcer said during the race... "Watch out for the leader... He's driving a brown car!"

1/8 Buggy - Final

Fastest lap: Alain Belisle
TQ: Alain Belisle
Winner: Hugo Levesque

With all the rain that fell on the track, many racers preferred to keep their buggy clean and far from the muddy track. A total of 5 racers braved the track condition and raced. Due to the poor track condition and the dark, the race has been shortened to 15 minutes.

Top qualifier, Alain Belisle took the lead with his Team Associated RC8 buggy. He was followed closely by Hugo Levesque who known a bad race day. He had to bump from the B to make the A this weekend. In third place was Eric Dube with his Mugen buggy. During the first 16 laps, all racers have kept their position. We had to wait until lap 17 when Belisle had mechanical problem and let everybody gain a position.

Unfortunately for Belisle, it was too late for him and finished third. The first place went to Hugo Levesque and the second place to Eric Dube.

Truggy - Final

Fastest lap: Dany Bradet
TQ: Dany Bradet
Winner: David Ivichek

Danny Grenier was in fire with his Mugen truggy and took the lead on the first lap until the 10th lap when the top qualifier, Dany Bradet, with his new Jammin' X2 truggy took the first position. In the next laps, Bradet and Grenier have frequently exchanged positions until lap 15. In the next 10 laps, Bradet was comfortably leading the race while David Ivichek, who started third, was fighting with Grenier for the second place.

On lap 25, the leader Bradet flamed out giving the first place to David Ivichek with his freshly built Team Associated RC8T. The last 15 laps were really exciting; Bradet came back and tried to return to his leading position. When the race finished, David Ivichek was first followed by Dany Bradet and Danny Grenier.

A brand new Team Associated RC8T Factory Team was present at the track. This was the first time I had the chance to look at one. Also, note the new LRP ZR.21X engine

The last words

Races are always fun and this one is no exception. Even if heavy rain fell on the track before the buggy final, we had a lot of fun. Racers and organisators were all happy. The next race is the final and will be on September 6th and 7th at the same track.
