    DayWin — Privacy Policy

    DayWin (“the App”) is developed by Sylvain Lafrance. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected when you use DayWin.

    1. Information We Collect

    DayWin collects only the information you provide directly within the app:

    • Your display name (entered during onboarding)

    • Journal entries (text, date, and day rating)

    • App preferences (reminder time, accent color, notification settings)

    2. How Your Data Is Stored

    All data is stored locally on your device and synced across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit (iCloud). Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple’s infrastructure. We do not operate any external servers and have no access to your iCloud data.

    3. Data We Do Not Collect

    DayWin does not collect, store, or transmit:

    • Location data

    • Device identifiers or advertising IDs

    • Analytics or usage tracking data

    • Health or fitness data

    • Contacts, photos, or media

    • Cookies or browsing history

    4. Third-Party Services

    DayWin does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service used is Apple’s CloudKit for iCloud sync, governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

    5. In-App Purchases

    Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

    6. Notifications

    DayWin may send local notifications (daily reminders, weekly digest) if you enable them. These notifications are generated on your device and are not sent through any external server.

    7. Data Retention and Deletion

    Your data remains on your device and in your iCloud account for as long as you use the app. You can delete all entries at any time from the Profile section. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, you can manage your iCloud storage through iOS Settings.

    8. Children’s Privacy

    DayWin does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages and does not contain objectionable content.

    9. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

    Terms of Use

    By downloading or using DayWin (“the App”), you agree to the following terms.

    1. Acceptance of Terms

    By accessing or using DayWin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

    2. Description of Service

    DayWin is a personal daily journal application that allows you to log accomplishments, rate your day, track streaks, earn badges, and view statistics. The App syncs data across your devices using Apple’s iCloud.

    3. User Accounts

    DayWin does not require account creation. Your data is associated with your Apple ID through iCloud. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID.

    4. Subscriptions and Payments

    DayWin offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (“DayWin Pro”) that unlock additional features. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

    • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

    • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

    • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device’s Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

    • Subscription prices are set in App Store Connect and may vary by region.

    • Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy.

    5. User Content

    You retain ownership of all content you create in DayWin (journal entries, names, preferences). We do not claim any rights to your content. You are solely responsible for the content you enter.

    6. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Use the App for any unlawful purpose

    • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

    • Attempt to access data belonging to other users

    7. Intellectual Property

    DayWin, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is the property of Sylvain Lafrance. All rights reserved. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

    8. Disclaimer of Warranties

    DayWin is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from device failure, iCloud issues, or app deletion.

    9. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sylvain Lafrance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or profits.

    10. Termination

    We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

    11. Changes to Terms

    We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

    12. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
