For those who ignore it, English is not my mother language. This explains why my English is not perfect :). In fact, I live in the Province of Quebec in Canada. The only French speaking province of all Canada. For some, this might seem strange but there are 7-8 million of French speaking persons living up north! Okay, now that is enough for the geography course today.
If I tell you all this, it is because many of my friends, who speak French, and many readers from Europe have asked me why MyRCBox.com was in English. The answer is quiet simple. MyRCBox.com wants to reach the most people as possible on the web and since 95% of my visitors are people who speak English, the choice was easy and logic.
Strangely, I don’t know the exact French terms for many terms related to R/C. Don’t ask me to translate terms like bump steer or anti squat… I really don’t know.
Not that I don’t like French. I’m proud to speak French every day and for having grown in a French speaking environment. But like for finances and computers, the main language for R/C is English. Another point, I will have been short minded to believe that I can live all my life without speaking English. I know, there still work to do to perfect my English but I don’t care, if Celine Dion can make it, I can too! I still have difficulties with few grammar rules, like the ‘s, and I must extend my vocabulary by adding few words and popular expressions. I’m sure, time will help.
By the way, a big thank to all my friends in the R/C industry who, without knowing it, help me in my quest to become bilingual 🙂 Glad you don’t hear me speaking English!
What is fun with hobbies like R/C is no matter where we come from or what language we speak, we all share the same passion.
Thanks for reading and visiting MyRCBox.com
À tous les visiteurs qui parlent Français, toutes mes excuses 🙂
