## Overview
Paint Keeper (“the App”) is developed by Sylvain Lafrance. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.
## Data Collection
**Paint Keeper does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.**
All data you enter in the App — including paint names, brands, color codes, photos, notes, and any other information — is stored locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit service.
## Data Storage
– **Local Storage**: Your paint data is stored on your device using Core Data.
– **iCloud Sync**: If iCloud is enabled on your device, your data is automatically synced across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. This data is governed by Apple’s iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
– **No External Servers**: The App does not use any third-party servers, databases, or cloud services beyond Apple’s iCloud.
## Photos
The App may request access to your device’s camera and photo library to allow you to attach photos to your paint entries. Photos are stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled. Photos are never uploaded to any external server.
## In-App Purchases
The App offers optional tip jar purchases processed through Apple’s App Store. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple. The developer does not have access to your payment information.
## Analytics and Tracking
Paint Keeper does not include any analytics frameworks, tracking tools, advertising SDKs, or third-party code that collects user data. The App does not track your usage, location, or behavior in any way.
## Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services. The only external service used is Apple’s CloudKit for iCloud synchronization, which is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
## Children’s Privacy
Paint Keeper does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The App is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.
## Data Deletion
You can delete all your paint data at any time from within the App by going to Settings and using the “Delete All Data” option. You can also delete the App from your device, which removes all locally stored data. To remove iCloud data, manage your iCloud storage through your device’s Settings.
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Terms of service Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using Paint Keeper (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
## Description of Service
Paint Keeper is a personal utility application that allows you to record and organize information about your paint colors, including color names, brands, color codes, finish types, room locations, quantities, purchase dates, photos, and notes.
## License
The App is licensed, not sold, to you for personal, non-commercial use on any Apple device that you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
## User Content
All data you enter into the App (paint records, photos, notes, etc.) remains yours. The developer does not access, view, collect, or claim any rights to your content.
## iCloud Sync
If iCloud is enabled on your device, the App will sync your data across your Apple devices using Apple’s CloudKit service. This feature depends on Apple’s iCloud infrastructure and is subject to Apple’s iCloud Terms and Conditions. The developer is not responsible for iCloud service availability, outages, or data loss related to iCloud.
## In-App Purchases
The App offers optional tip jar purchases (“Tips”) to support development. Tips are one-time consumable purchases processed by Apple. Tips do not unlock additional features — the App is fully functional without any purchase. All purchases are final and subject to Apple’s refund policies.
## Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose: organizing and tracking paint information for personal use. You agree not to:
– Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
– Use the App for any unlawful purpose
– Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to the App
## Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that:
– The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
– Color swatches displayed on screen will exactly match physical paint colors (screen color accuracy varies by device)
– Data will be preserved in all circumstances (you are responsible for your own backups)
## Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the App.
## Data Loss
While the App uses Core Data and iCloud to store and sync your information, the developer is not responsible for data loss due to device failure, software bugs, iCloud issues, or any other cause. You are encouraged to keep your own records of important paint information.
## Intellectual Property
Paint Keeper, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of Sylvain Lafrance. All rights reserved.
## Modifications
The developer reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
## Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
## Termination
These terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete it from your devices.
