    Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 18, 2026 This Privacy Policy describes how NetProbe (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) handles your information when you use our mobile and desktop application available on the Apple App Store.

    1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly: When you use the App’s diagnostic tools, you enter data such as hostnames, domain names, and IP addresses. This information is processed to perform the requested network operations and is stored locally on your device in the tool history. Information collected automatically:

    • Network information: The App accesses your device’s network interfaces (e.g., local IP address, network adapter name) to display network configuration details in the “My IP” and “Network Scanner” tools.
    • Local network devices: When you use the Network Scanner tool, the App discovers devices on your local network, including their IP addresses, MAC addresses, and hostnames.
    • Purchase information: If you purchase NetProbe Pro via In-App Purchase, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.

    2. How We Use Your Information

All data you enter into the App is used solely to perform the network diagnostic operations you request, such as:

    • Sending ping requests to specified hosts
    • Performing DNS lookups
    • Running traceroutes
    • Checking SSL certificates
    • Scanning local network devices
    • Performing speed tests
    • Looking up WHOIS records
    • Resolving reverse DNS and reverse IP queries
    • Checking HTTP security headers
    • Performing IP geolocation lookups
    • Calculating CIDR subnets
    • Checking port availability
    • Sending Wake-on-LAN packets
    • Monitoring bandwidth usage

    3. Third-Party Services

The App communicates with the following third-party services to provide certain features:

    • ip-api.com: Used for IP geolocation lookups. When you use the “My IP” or “IP Geolocation” tools, your IP address or a specified IP address is sent to this service. Please refer to ip-api.com’s privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
    • Cloudflare: Used as the server endpoint for the Speed Test tool. Connection metadata (your IP address) is sent during the test.
    • Apple: In-App Purchase transactions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

    4. Data Storage

    • Local storage only: All tool history and results are stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. We do not transmit, sync, or back up your tool history to any server.
    • No account required: The App does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information such as your name or email address.
    • No cloud sync: Your data is not synced across devices.

    5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only data transmitted outside your device is:

    • Network requests you explicitly initiate through the App’s tools (e.g., pinging a host, performing a DNS lookup)
    • IP addresses sent to ip-api.com for geolocation lookups
    • Speed test data sent to Cloudflare’s servers

    6. Data Retention

Tool history is stored on your device until you choose to delete it. You can clear your history at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.

    7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

    8. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can:

    • View your tool history within the App
    • Delete individual history entries or clear all history
    • Uninstall the App to remove all associated data

    9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
