Two disc for full coverage

Introduction

LiveRC.com (www.LiveRC.com) is well known by racers and by R/C enthusiasts for their great race broadcasts on the web. LiveRC.com’s team was at the Farm II race track for the 2008 IFMAR 1/8 scale buggy off-road world championships in Charlotte, NC, USA. They recorded tons of interviews and all races during all the Worlds. So much, that two DVDs were needed to pack all the action!

The DVD

The first DVD contains all the practices, qualifications and races, including the full one hour final race. Also on the first DVD, you’ll find a complete description of the track layout. Every sections of the track are well explained. On practice days, LiveRC.com team interviewed racers in their booths while waiting for the rain to stop. Rain made the track extremely muddy and this is very interesting to see what racers and race teams did to have more traction and to prevent mud from adding too much weight to their buggies.

The final race is very well commented by the two announcers Scotty Ernst and Charlie Suangka. Positions of the racers and remaining time are displayed on top of the screen during the entire race to help us to follow the action.

The second DVD contains a ton of really hot interviews with racers, pit men (and pit women!) and everybody involved in the R/C industry. It is very interesting to hear comments from the world’s best racers before and after their practices, qualifs or races. We can see excitation on racers’ faces and disappointment on others faces. I’d like to list all persons interviewed but there is more than 100 interviews on the DVD’s, so I’ll simply say that everybody is there!

Conclusion

When I watched the DVD for the first time my first reaction has been “WOW!!” and even if I watched the DVD’s 4-5 times until now, I’m still impressed by the quality of the product. Each time I watched the DVD’s I found something new concerning racers, race cars or race teams. Brandon Rohde and his team packed two excellent DVD’s with full action and great interviews. This is definitively THE DVD to have.
