The second round of the RC Pro Series Canada, Quebec division was held in Drummondville, Qc. With more than 50 entries, a lot of racers battled for a place on the podium, only the fastest "or luckiest" were able to bring home trophy plates. The track was smooth at the beginning of the day but after few practice rounds, the track was rough making jumping few doubles almost impossible. The key for a good lap time was, roll few jumps and keep focused on your driving line.

 

 

1/8 Buggy - Final

Fastest lap: Abiye Birku
TQ:Abiye Birku
Winner: Abiye Birku

Once again Abiye Birku did it. He top qualified, had the fastest lap time and won the race. Started first he leaded the race until lap 13 when Eric Dube took the lead for few laps. On lap 18, Birku got back in the first position and cruised his buggy for the rest of the race. Martin Petre came back from the seventh position to the third and tried to reach the second place. However, Eric Dube which was in second position, continued his good driving and finished second. Eight seconds later, Martin Petre crossed the loop to finish third. This was a good battle between Dube and Petre.

Fastest lap: Paul Poulin
TQ: Martin Petre
Winner: Martin Petre

Paul Poulin started second and took the lead on the first lap. He leaded the race until Martin Petre took the lead on lap #13. Petre never looked back for the rest of the race and won the final. Meanwhile, Marlene Deom was in third position and battled hard with Paul Poulin in second place. With only few minutes left in the race, Marlene got the second place leaving Paul Poulin behind for the third place.

The last words

This second round of the Canadian RC Pro Series, Quebec division was a great success. A lot of racers were present and this was fun to exchange with them. New racers were also present and from what they told me, they liked their first experience at the RC Pro Series. The next round will be at Chateau-Richer race track on July 19th.
